Wheelchairs, cushions, and assistive technology need regular care and maintenance. Wheelchair wellness during COVID means keeping equipment clean and working well to prevent illness and ensure reliability.

This webinar showed how to clean and disinfect both manual and power wheelchairs at home. Presenters explained practical steps for keeping your equipment safe and effective without needing a professional service visit.

In addition to cleaning techniques, the presenters shared tips for basic at-home maintenance. They explained how to perform upkeep safely and correctly, helping users avoid common issues.

The webinar was designed for wheelchair users, their families, and healthcare professionals. This includes primary care providers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who support people using assistive technology.

You can still watch the full session. It was streamed on the Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection’s Facebook page. Please share it with anyone who might benefit.
